YAGO: A Core of Semantic Knowledge
There are several projects in the area of the Semantic Web:
- YAGO itself is part of the YAGO-NAGA project, which addresses a wide range of key challenges in the area of semantic information processing.
- The SUMO Ontology is a highly axiomized manually created ontology.
SUMO and YAGO have been merged in the YAGO-SUMO project.
- DBpedia is a community effort to extract structured information from Wikipedia.
- The Linking Open Data Initiative aims to
interlink existing ontologies through Web services.
- The UMBEL ontology aims to provide a lightweight structure of subject concepts as a reference to what Web content or data "is about".
- Freebase is a community-based approach to ontologies.
- Cyc is a commercial ontology project
